Expansion of the Holy Family Hospital outreach clinic

Dec 12, 2013 Paediatric and neonatal care: new facilities thanks to Belgian Government

The Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders visited the Order of Malta Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem, and participated in the November 10th inauguration of the expansion of the hospital’s outreach clinic. He was received by Dominique de La Rochefoucauld-Montbel, the President Delegate of the Hospital Board. The new facilities include paediatric and neonatal care in addition to the maternity care already in place.

Grand Master receives the Mayor of Bethlehem

The Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Fra’ Matthew Festing received the Mayor of Bethlehem Vera Baboun this morning. 

The meeting, which was held in the Magistral Palace and was also attended by the Palestinian Ambassador to the Holy See,  Issa Kassissieh, and the Order of Malta’s Ambassador to the Holy See and diplomatic advisor, Alberto Leoncini Bartoli, focussed on the living conditions of the Palestinian population in the West Bank and the excellent relations between the institutions of Bethlehem, cradle of Christianity, and the Sovereign Order of Malta, founded precisely in the Holy Land in 1048.

Remnants of the Order of St. John's First Hospital come to light in Jerusalem
