Salfit Governorate delegation received at Holy Family Hospital

The Representative of the Sovereign Order of Malta Justin Simpson and the CEO of Holy Family Hospital Dominique Jacqmin received a delegation from Salfit Governorate at the Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem on Thursday 20 November 2014.

The delegation included the Deputy Governor Mr. Abd al-Hameed al-Deek, the Director General of Salfit Government Hospital Dr. Mohammad al- Aref, the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Salfit Governorate Dr. Yasir Boziah, the Head of Marda Village Council Mr. Osama Khouffash, and the Head of Marda Charitable Association for Development Mr. Nasfat Khouffash.

Ambassador Simpson welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the commitment of the Sovereign Order of Malta to continue its efforts to help the needy in the region in the fields of maternal and infant health, and economic development. He highlighted the successful cooperation between the Order and the local leadership over recent years.

The visit aimed at strengthening cooperation between the Sovereign Order of Malta and the Salfit region, since the Order has been working in the neediest areas of the Governorate to help individuals, families and cooperatives to create employement and generate income  through the Dignity Loan Program, and to provide assistance to the Marda Clinic of the Ministry of Health.

Mr. Jacqmin offered the delegation the opportunity for medical personnel from the region to receive training at Holy Family Hospital in its specialist field of maternal and infant care.

Mr. Al-Deek the Deputy Governor thanked the Order for the work it is doing in the Governorate. He admired the high standards the and advanced facilities of Holy Family Hospital, and expressed support for further cooperation between the Government Hospital in Salfit and Holy Family Hospital.
