Holy Family Hospital

Holy Family HospitalHoly Family Hospital is a maternity hospital run by the Sovereign Order of Malta in Bethlehem, 500 yards from the birthplace of Jesus Christ.

In 1989 at the request of Blessed Pope John Paul II, the Sovereign Order of Malta took on the operation and management of the Holy Family Hospital. The hospital has undergone extensive refurnishing and renovation, becoming a highly modern, well-equipped maternity hospital, with the region’s only neo-natal intensive care unit.

In twenty three years of operation, Holy Family Hospital has grown from 28 beds and fewer than 1,000 births annually to 60 beds and more than 3,200 annual births. December 2013 saw the 60,000th birth at Holy Family Hospital under the care of the Order of Malta.
